With WrestleMania XXX about 8 weeks away, newgazzi will be celebrating 30 years of WrestleMania with a one of a kind tournament to determine the greatest Superstar of the WrestleMania era, but with a twist. To be eligible for the tournament, you have had to compete in at least one WrestleMania, however, you will enter the tournament at the peak of your career. Meaning, Bruno Sammartino, who's only appearance in a WrestleMania match was at WrestleMania 2's Battle Royal, would enter the tournament as 1963's Bruno Sammartino. Hogan would enter as mid-80's Hogan, CM Punk as 2011 Punk, etc. ESPN Classic did something like this in the 80s, pitting the 66 Packers against the 84 Niners, etc, in an all time tournament to crown the greatest football team ever.
This will be a 64 man tournament, and you will be determining the winners.
The first round matches will be posted between Monday February 10th and Wednesday March 5th ... 32 matches in 24 days.
The second round matches will be posted between Thursday March 6th and Friday March 21st ... 16 matches, one every day.
The Sweet 16 will take place between Saturday, March 22nd and Saturday March 29th ... 8 matches, one every day.
The Elite 8 will take place between Sunday March 30th and Wednesday April 2nd ... 4 matches, one every day.
The Final Four matches will take place on Thursday April 3rd and Friday April 4th.
The championship will take place on Saturday April 5th, and the winner will be announced on Sunday April 6th, right before WrestleMania XXX.
