The Boss's 9/11 record, and significantly, the first album recorded with the E Street band in 18 years, the last one being Born in the USA. This was Springsteen's response to the 9/11 attacks, and while the album is one of his biggest political statements, he's also presenting stories about people here, and it's easy to make a connection with these characters. This certainly isn't a record we spin and dance to, but to quote (or misquote) Chris Chambers from Stand By Me, "maybe it shouldn't be a party".
