On Saturday night, The Ultimate Warrior was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, after 18 years away from the WWE. His speech brought me to tears. Over the next two days, Warrior would appear at WrestleMania and Monday Night Raw for the first time since 1996, and less than 24 hours after his appearance on RAW, he has passed away. The Warrior, real name Jim Hellwig, collapsed outside of his hotel in Phoenix around 5:50pm Tuesday evening.
This is such an incredibly sad day, as I'm sure the past three days were the best of his professional career. To finally get the recognition that he deserved, to be welcomed back with open arms by the WWE, such a proud moment for he, his wife and two daughters ... He just signed a contract recently to be a good will ambassador for the WWE, and his suggestion on Saturday night to create a Jimmy Miranda Lifetime Achievement Award for the employees of WWE who do all the hard work and don't get the recognition was such a selfless thing to do on his big night.
Thank you for the memories. Your participation in this past weekend's events will be remembered forever ...
