First and foremost, Tom Waits is a poet. What brings me back to all of these Tom Waits and Elvis Costello records are there words, and the way they deliver them. The music here pretty much serves the songs, but the highlight is Waits' vocals and lyrics. There are some great characters portrayed, and some great stories told on this record. A must listen ...
