I'm still not sure what was behind Tom Maxwell leaving the Zippers shortly after this record was released, but the only thing that prevents this record from being higher on this list is that it's bittersweet, in that it's his last album with the band. There is not a weak tune in the bunch. I just bought an SNZ live album, recorded 12 years ago, and while I enjoy it, the Zippers without Maxwell is like BNL without Steven Page. Just not quite the same ...
Take a listen to "Suits are Picking Up the Bill" and "Ghost of Stephen Foster" ...
