Fugazzi Grand (800-781)

800. "Acts of Man" (Midlake, The Courage of Others, 2010)
The first and only album I ever bought on lala.com. I hope iTunes starts offering a streaming subscription soon.

799. "Simple Twist of Fate" (Bob Dylan, Dylan, 2007)
Years ago, I got a free 10 song sampler from Rolling Stone magazine, and this was featured on it. The first Dylan song I really embraced.

798. "Talkin' Alien Abduction Blues" (Dan Bern, Favorites, 2010)
Howard Goldstein introduced me to Dan Bern in 2003. Great songwriter, I think he would be a great live show, too.

797. "Mass Romantic" (New Pornographers, Mass Romantic, 2000)
Neko Case and Co know what the hell they are doing. It's about time I pick up the new one.

796. "Always Crush Me" (Guided By Voices, Alien Lanes, 1995)
Those of you who know me well enough know this is my favorite album...ever.

795. "Forced to Love" (Broken Social Scene, Forgiveness Rock Record, 2010)
It took a few listens for me to be fully on board, but in a short period of time, this tune has slipped into the heavy rotation on my ipod.

794. "Big Daddy C" (The Rentals, Seven More Minutes, 1999)
A record I come back to often. Not sure about what the hell their doing these days, but this will always be good to me.

793. "I Got You" (Stone Temple Pilots, No 4, 1999)
It's about crack, I think, but it's still a great song. I don't even know what "crack" is.

792. "Seven Days" (Sting, Ten Summoner's Tales, 1993)
Go ahead, make your fun. I own and enjoy a Sting album.

791. "Eden Was a Garden" (Roman Candle, Oh Tall Tree in the Ear, 2009)
Another great artist I discovered through Paste. Wanna pick this up soon, too.

790. "Carry the Zero" (Built to Spill, Keep It Like a Secret, 1999)
Sonically, one of the best sounding bands out there.

789. "Lowell, Ma" (Death Cab For Cutie, We Have the Facts..., 2000)
I go back and forth between this and "The Photo Album" as my favorite Death Cab records.

788. "Thing About Trouble" (Doug Burr, On Promenade, 2007)
This is a timeless ballad that I will love forever.

787. "Honesty" (Billy Joel, 52nd Street, 1978)
This is a true story. Billy Joel wrote the music first, and the original lyric used in rehearsal was "sodomy". It worked out in the end.

786. "Mandy" (Barry Manilow, Essential Manilow, 1974)
I will get more flack for this song than any other on this list.

785. "Narcolepsy" (Ben Folds Five, The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner, 1999)
I miss the band.

784. "Blue Eyes" (Elton John, The Very Best..., 1982)
I once included this on a mixtape for an old girlfriend. She had green eyes. It didn't work out.

783. "In A Big Country" (Big Country, 20th Century Masters, 1983)
Essential 80's sound.

782. "Somebody That I Used to Know" (Elliott Smith, Figure 8, 2000)
Best record by far.

781. "Working Class Hero" (John Lennon, Working Class Hero, 1970)
There are some great covers of this song out there, this is still the best version.
