2014 MLB Predictions

AL East

1.  Boston Red Sox
2.  Tampa Bay Rays
3.  Baltimore Orioles
4.  New York Yankees
5.  Toronto Blue Jays

Last year, I had the Blue Jays in the World Series, had the Sox taking last, and the Sox won the whole thing.  So what the hell do I know.  I think Boston and Tampa Bay are the most balanced teams in this division.  Baltimore isn't quite there yet, and the Yankees just seem old to me.

AL Central

1.  Detroit Tigers
2.  Kansas City Royals
3.  Cleveland Indians
4.  Chicago White Sox
5.  Minnesota Twins

Despite losing Prince Fielder, the Tigers are still the class of this division.  That rotation is the best in baseball, and the addition of Joe Nathan upgrades their bullpen.  The Royals and the Indians have bright futures, and the Sox and Twins just lack talent to compete.

AL West

1.  Texas Rangers
2.  Oakland Athletics
3.  Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
4.  Seattle Mariners
5.  Houston Astros

The Rangers seemed primed for a deep run, and the A's will be very competitive.  I don't think much of the rest of the division.

AL Wild Card Game

Tampa Bay over Oakland

AL Divisional Playoffs

Detroit over Tampa Bay
Texas over Boston

AL Championship Series

Texas over Detroit

NL East

1.  Atlanta Braves
2.  Washington Nationals
3.  New York Mets
4.  Philadelphia Phillies
5.  Miami Marlins

The Braves look good in every facet of the game.  The Nationals will be right there, too.  The Mets appear to have a bright future, but no Matt Harvey will derail any postseason thoughts for 2014.  The Phillies, much like the Yankees, just seem old, and the Marlins will continue to stink.

NL Central

1.  St Louis Cardinals
2.  Cincinnati Reds
3.  Pittsburgh Pirates
4.  Milwaukee Brewers
5.  Chicago Cubs

The Cardinals are the class of baseball, as much as I hate to say it.  The Reds have a ton of talent.  I think the Pirates take a step back this year.  The Brewers will have to show me that this particular group has good chemistry, it's going to take more than a cute dog to win games.  The Cubs, well, they will honor the schedule they are given.

NL West

1.  Los Angeles Dodgers
2.  San Francisco Giants
3.  San Diego Padres
4.  Arizona Diamondbacks
5.  Colorado Rockies

The Dodgers are just too talented not to win this series.  The Giants will provide their only real competition within the division, as the rest of these teams seem pretty weak to me.

NL Wild Card Game

Washington over Cincinnati

NL Divisional Playoffs

Los Angeles over Washington
St Louis over Atlanta

NL Championship Series

Los Angeles over St Louis

World Series Prediction

Los Angeles Dodgers over Texas Rangers in 7 games
